FREE Weekly Group Chess Lessons (Community Events)

The Right Move Public Chess Club is pleased to announce weekly FREE GROUP CHESS LESSONS for a limited time. Local chess expert, tournament player, and director of the local club will prepare the aspiring player for tournament chess playing teaching all the fundamentals of the "Royal Game" of chess. This is a non-profit event for the promotion and enjoyment of chess in the Pikes Peak Region. Chess sets will be provided for the classes. Ages 7 and up qualify for the no cost lessons. The Colorado Springs Astronomical Society (CSAS) invites the public to a FREE telescope viewing session on Friday March 26, 2010, located at Bear Creek Park in the East Garden parking lot. Directions: follow HWY 24 west to 21st Ave. Turn south on 21st and follow it to Rio Grande. Turn east on Rio Grande and then turn right at the Bear Creek park sign. Follow the road to the bottom and then turn left and proceed east to the far end of the parking lot. CSAS club members setup their telescopes to allow attendees to view objects such as planets, galaxies, nebulas, star clusters and more! Reservations are NOT needed. All ages are welcome! The event begins at Sunset, approximately 7:30 PM and lasts until 11:00 PM. Please check CSAS’ website for additional information at http://www.csastro.org.
